Laurent Tavian works in the Accelerator and Technology Sector at CERN (Switzerland), where he led the Cryogenics Group for 14 years. An ENSAM engineer by training, he has contributed to the design, the construction and the operation of the large superfluid helium cryogenic systems of the Tore Supra Tokamak during a first professional experience at the CEA (France) and of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. He is also member of the CSE advisory board and of the Cryogenics and Superconductivity Commission of AFF. Today, he is responsible of the new infrastructures for the High-Luminosity LHC Project.
