
Marcel ter Brake has 40 years of experience in cryogenic technologies and superconducting devices. He is Full Professor at the University of Twente and chair holder of Energy, Materials and Systems. Next to cryogenic technologies, this research cluster investigates the use of superconductivity in large-current applications. Next to chairing the International Cryogenic Engineering Committee, he chairs the Board of the Cryogenics Society of Europe and is board member of the International Cryocooler Conference. He has supervised and (co)-promoted 19 PhD students, and has published more than 200 papers, of which 115 in refereed journals.
